These programs are designed to foster creativity in young people, and give them outlets for self-expression. Our arts programs have something that will inspire everyone.

Umoja - African Drumming & Dance Group

Ages 8-14

We are so excited for this new program! Our African Drumming & Dance Group honors Gullah/Geechee heritage, and teaches our members about the importance of preserving customs and traditions of this culture that has had such an influence on the Lowcountry. Through this program members will improve their listening skills by demonstrating the ability to identify and perform at least five West African polyrhythms, members will learn responsibility and respect by participating in at least 90% of rehearsals and members will increase their knowledge of Gullah/Geechee history. This program is generously funded by Women in Philanthropy.

Recording Studio

Age 12-18

The Club’s recording studio gives members the chance to learn about the entertainment industry. They record their own songs, but before that, they learn how to work as a team via songwriting and producing. They also learn the basics of music. This year we will be incorporating photography and video editing into the program.
